Fourth of July Fireworks
The Fourth of July holiday is almost here! While pulling your favorite red, white, and blue outfit of your closet, it is the best time to make sure that you know where the best firework viewing spots are so that you and your family can fully enjoy the holiday!
If you were thinking about lighting off your own fireworks show this holiday, think again. Fireworks are not permitted in Culver City, but there are many surrounding areas where you can put on your own show, including Alhambra, Azusa, Bellflower, Carson, Huntington Park, El Monte, Irwindale, Monterey Park, Palmdale, and more. You can find a full list of firework friendly cities online.
If you are planning on heading out to a surrounding city to light your own fireworks, keep these safety tips in mind to ensure that you do not end your holiday in the emergency room.
- Do not allow young children to light fireworks! Always make sure that they are a safe distance away from anyone who is lighting them.
- Never aim fireworks at another person, animal, or building to avoid injury and property damage.
- Before you throw away any used or dud fireworks, soak them in a bucket of water to make sure that they are completely extinguished.
If you want to leave the fireworks up to the professionals, there are plenty of places to enjoy a show, including:
- West LA College for the Culver City Fireworks Show. This year’s show will be even longer than past years, and will once again feature the “Firefall.” Gates open at 4 p.m., and parking is $10 with a suggested entrance donation of $5 a person.
- Americafest at the Rose Bowl Stadium is entering into its 89th year! The event will feature live entertainment leading up to the main event fireworks that will start when the sun goes down.
- Marina Del Rey offers a fireworks spectacular over the water. There are many viewing spots throughout the city, including Fisherman’s Village, Burton Chace Park, Café Del Rey, Whisky Red’s, and more.
ISU – Wissink Insurance in Culver City, California would like to wish you and your family a happy 4th of July!
