Covered California Open Enrollment Fast Approaching

Culver City Covered California Open EnrollmentThe open enrollment period is fast approaching, are you ready? The Affordable Care Act was put in place to provide all Americans with affordable health care solutions. The mission of this act is for every American to have sufficient health care coverage. Individuals with health insurance are able to live longer, more fulfilling lives, as they’re receiving the preventative care our bodies need to prevail.

The next open enrollment period begins on November 15th, 2014, and will end on February 15th. If you don’t obtain health insurance during this time, you’ll be required to pay a penalty each month until you can obtain health insurance, which isn’t available until the 3rd Obamacare open enrollment period. The only exclusion of this rule is if an individual qualifies for the special enrollment period.

While many are viewing the implications surrounding the Affordable Care Act as unnecessary and excessive, there are a variety of benefits that Obamacare has brought to us. For example, a significant enhancement can be seen in women’s health services, as there are new counseling and support services available to them. Additionally, many individuals are finally able to receive care, despite having a preexisting condition. Before Obamacare, these individuals were rejected from receiving much-needed care.

With new implications surrounding Obamacare, it becomes increasingly more important that individuals do their research and prepare to enroll for health insurance during the open enrollment period. If you don’t have health insurance it’s extremely important that you prepare because the open enrollment period is only one month away!
